This 18,600-acre lake is ideal for a day on the water. Also, enjoy equestrian trails, walking trails, and sleeping under the stars. Offers great fishing; known for crappie and bass tournaments. There are stocked ponds for those without boats.
Camping is available in four Corps of Engineers developed recreation areas, many with full hookups; most have electric, fire grills, lantern hangers, picnic tables and asphalt pads. Areas have showers, restrooms, sanitary stations, trails, scenic overlooks, launch ramps, and beaches and playgrounds.
Mark Twain Lake is also home to Mark Twain State Park and historic site on the west side of the lake. Mark Twain’s birthplace home is located within the Mark Twain Shrine.
